IDEA: Drop the excuses and put on your big girl panties
To make a change, to make a difference, to make head way, you have to pull up your boot straps and hold up the mirror to find out how that person in the reflection can make it happen. Quit pointing fingers, placing blame, using excuses. Change starts within and your biggest weapon is your own mental drive or it can be your biggest crutch.
About Amanda:
I am the principal at Hilton Head Island High School where I have been principal since 2007. At the time I was chosen as principal, I was only 32 years old which was very young for this role. At that time our school was listed on the "Drop out factory list" by Colin Powell. And since then we have make the list for one of the top high schools in the nation by the Washington Post and the top high school in our state. Showing up for work every day with a drive to make this the best place in the universe is my professional goal. Prior to be serving as Principal, I was an assistant principal and teacher. I have served our state as the SCASA President and currently as a national liaison for NASSP. I am also on the Governing Board for our local hospital.
